Where is my monthly donation going?

Monthly donations are going towards school rebuilding projects across Indonesia, ie. Nusa Tenggara Timur, Java and Lombok. When pooled monthly donations reach the amount to build a school, we will start the school reconstruction. Read more about Happy Hearts Indonesia’s programs and their impacts. Changemakers will receive the updates of school rebuilding projects by email.

When will I be charged for my monthly donation?

Once you complete your transaction, your card will be charged this amount immediately, and then will automatically be charged the same amount on the same day of each month going forward. For instance, if you set up your monthly donation on the 20th of December, then all future donations will post to your credit card on the 20th of each subsequent month until you cancel your monthly donation.

How do I change the credit card I am using for my monthly donation?

When you donate in Indonesian Rupiah, sign in to your Happy Hearts Indonesia account. Select “Payment methods” tab, and enter your new credit card information.

When you donate in USD, go through your GlobalGiving profile, select the “Donations” tab, and “Edit/Update Billing Info.” You can enter new credit card/billing information here.

I don’t have a credit card, can I use another method?

If you own an Indonesian bank account or e-wallet, we can send you a monthly invoice with instructions on how to donate by BCA, BNI, BRI, Mandiri, Permata, Dana, OVO, ShopeePay or Alfamart. Please fill out this form to get started.

How do I change the amount of my monthly donation?

When you donate in Indonesian Rupiah, sign in to your Happy Hearts Indonesia account. Select “Subscriptions” tab and “View” the recurring donation you would like to change. In “Actions” you can downgrade or upgrade your donation amount.

When you donate in USD, through your GlobalGiving profile, you can easily change the amount of your donation to Happy Hearts Indonesia. In the top right corner of the website, select the profile icon (or log in). Under “My Profile,” choose the “Donations” tab and find the monthly donation you wish to change. Changes will take effect with your next regularly scheduled monthly payment.

When you donate by bank transfer or e-wallet, please contact us at changemaker@happyheartsindonesia.org to change your monthly donation amount.

How do I change the amount of my monthly donation when the above option does not work?

If you cannot downgrade or upgrade your donation amount by signing in to your Happy Hearts Indonesia account, send us an email to changemaker@happyheartsindonesia.org. Make sure to fill in the subject line with “Change my monthly donation amount” and use this template on the email body.

How do I update the billing information on my recurring donation?

If you donate in IDR from our website, sign in to your Happy Hearts Indonesia account. Select “Addresses” from the menu and “Edit” your billing address. At the bottom of the page, check to “Update the Billing Address used for all of my active subscriptions” and select “Save Address”.

If you donate monthly in non-IDR currencies and need to update your billing information, simply login to GlobalGiving. On the right-hand side of the page, you’ll see all of your billing information. Click the button that says “Edit” underneath your credit card information, and you’ll be able to enter your new billing details. Then, click “Continue” to save your updates!

How do I cancel my recurring donation?

When you donate in Indonesian Rupiah through our website, sign in to your Happy Hearts Indonesia account. Select “Subscriptions” tab and “View” the recurring donation you would like to change. In “Actions” select “Cancel”.

When you donate in USD, simply login to your GlobalGiving account. You can then click “Stop/Cancel Recurring Donations” so that no more donations will be processed on your card. You can always set up a new recurring donation at anytime if you change your mind.

Why am I being directed to another site when trying to make a monthly donation in US dollars?

Monthly donations in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD are processed through our partner GlobalGiving, an online fundraising platform based in USA. Please read the terms and privacy policy of GlobalGiving.

Why is there an additional donation on top of my donation to Happy Hearts Indonesia?

When you donate in USD, during checkout there’s an additional donation that you can make to our partner GlobalGiving and it is optional. GlobalGiving not only provides us the platform to donate, but also free online training, tools and marketing. If you do not wish to give this additional donation, you can select “I do not wish to amplify my impact” option.

Is my monthly donation tax-deductible?

All monthly donations through our partner GlobalGiving are tax-deductible for donors who are US taxpayers. A tax receipt will be issued immediately after you make a donation. Additionally, you can access a copy of your complete donation history on GlobalGiving at any time.

UK taxpayers paying in GBP are eligible for Gift Aid. Just check the box during checkout and enter your taxpayer address to make your donation count for Gift Aid.

Euro, Canadian dollar (CAD), and Australian dollar (AUD) donations are typically not tax-deductible.
