Believing that poor sanitation and inappropriate hygiene behaviour are disastrous for young children, we conducted Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) training for both teachers and children in the schools we rebuilt.
Through this training, we emphasized the importance of maintaining good hygiene by encouraging children to dispose of their garbage in a trash can. Furthermore, we provided facilities and training to help develop handwashing habits among young children.
To date, 460 students and 44 teachers from 19 schools in East Nusa Tenggara, East Java, and Banten have received WASH training from our program officers. We will continue this program to ensure the development of healthy behaviours at a young age.
