A Gift in Your Honor
OUR STORY

Kim & Pat

Pat and Kim met in the Bay Area during college in 2016. Despite their differences, these are what unite them and make them stronger as a couple. Pat was immediately struck by Kim’s keen interest and passion for social impact. At the same time, Kim was equally impressed by Pat’s unwavering support for her passion, even though he approached life from a different perspective.

Together, they vow to make their mark on the world, one step at a time. On their special day, they sought a way to honor their loved ones who are no longer with them, particularly Opa Iwan and Oma Tuti, Pat’s grandparents on his mother’s side; Opa Benny, Pat’s grandfather on his father’s side; and Oma Enny and Oma Tjia, Kim’s grandmothers.
Inspired by the legacy of their grandparents, particularly Oma Enny and Oma Tjia, who were both educators, and Opa Iwan, Oma Tuti, and Opa Benny, who all valued and supported education, they decided to donate to the realm of education. This led to their partnership with Happy Hearts Indonesia.

The happy couple invites you to read about the PAUD Delima project and learn more about Happy Hearts Indonesia’s remarkable work.
PAUD Delima’s Background
REBUILD

transforming schools for safer learning

PAUD Delima was founded in 2009 with the noble intention of bridging the educational gap caused by the distance of existing preschool facilities from the village. It serves as a beacon of hope for 30 students aged 4-6 from laborers’ families seeking better educational opportunities for their children.

At the beginning of its establishment, PAUD Delima conducted teaching activities on the Village PPK chairman’s terrace using makeshift playground equipment. Then, in 2012, PAUD Delima received assistance in the form of a school building using granted land. With the new learning building facilities, students increased 100% from 30 to 68.

However, in 2022, Cianjur was shaken by an earthquake, which damaged roofs and cracked classroom walls. This condition makes learning activities less comfortable and unsafe for students and teachers. In addition, the increasing number of students creates an unconducive classroom situation.

PROJECTS
