Challenge

34.72 percent of households in Indonesia do not have access to clean water (Statistics Indonesia, 2018). Many schools in deprived regions in Indonesia lack any form of sanitary facilities, including toilets and handwashing stations. Poor sanitation and inappropriate hygiene behavior cause life threatening diseases for young children.

Our Action

We provide toilets and handwashing station at every newly rebuilt school

Training

  • Conducting WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) training to educate students, teachers and communities on healthy sanitation behavior

  • Encouraging children to dispose garbage in a trash can

  • Continuing this program to ensure the development of healthy behaviours at a young age
