#ActionSumatra—
THE SITUATION

children in Sumatra are still waiting

Severe flooding across Sumatra has damaged 4,518 schools, disrupting learning for more than 657,000 children—many in North Sumatra. Classrooms are no longer safe or usable, forcing students out of school for months. When a school is lost, children don’t just lose a building—they lose routine, stability, and the chance to keep learning.

be part part of bringing them back to school

Desks & Furniture

Help create a proper learning space by providing desks, chairs, cabinets, and whiteboards—so children can sit, learn, and feel like students again.

Digital Learning Tools

Support access to learning beyond the classroom with laptops, printers, and projectors for students and teachers in affected schools.

Temporary Schools

Build safe, fully equipped classrooms so children can return to school as soon as possible—while preparing for permanent rebuilding.

Permanent Schools

Help rebuild schools that last—safe, resilient spaces where children can learn, grow, and move forward for years to come.
