Jakarta, 23 October 2024 – Lombok has become a place of remarkable transformation for Indonesia’s younger generation, fostering sustainability starting from schools. On 18th October 2024, Happy Hearts Indonesia, in collaboration with Vania Herlambang (Indonesia Environmental Pageant 2022) and Kitabisa, proudly launched the Voluntrip Lombok edition. The Voluntrip profoundly was filled with invaluable knowledge and enriching experiences, benefiting both the participants, the students and teachers.

Voluntrip was launched with the aim of inspiring communities to witness transformational change and green innovation, contributing to quality education and climate action in Indonesia. At Happy Hearts Indonesia, our commitment goes beyond rebuilding schools; we also focus on empowering communities through hands-on experiences like Voluntrip.

During the event, participants enthusiastically engaged in various activities designed to inspire the students of RA Baladul Amin. From learning about sustainability through sorting organic and non-organic waste, to fun waste management learning, drawing, and eventually closed with a cheerful sing-along. These activities not only brought smiles but also stimulated sensory abilities and enhanced cognitive skills for the children.

Moving on, after delightful and engaging activities with the students, the volunteers went to the place of transformational change. They went to the Block Solutions Factory to understand how these eco-bricks help cooling down the planet by reducing carbon emissions and plastic waste. The participants were amazed and excited to hear the explanation from Block Solutions representatives about the eco-brick while capturing a moment of change in their life at the factory.

It was an exquisite experience and a changing moment for the participants–paving the way to achieve sustainability and net-zero is not just a “nonsense”, it’s already there. Therefore, we need to support this revolutionary initiative in shaping a greener future while nurturing our children with essential knowledge of sustainability and radiating positive influence from our small actions.
