“Education isn’t just about grades on paper, but about how a person learns to understand the world and treat others.”
This edition of #FriendsStories features Natasha Udu and Jajago, who see education as more than just a classroom. For them, it’s the foundation for the future of Indonesian children, especially those growing up with limited access to resources and facilities.

For Natasha Udu, education goes far beyond academics.
“Education shapes how we see the world and how we treat others. It teaches us to think, to build empathy, and to understand that we live alongside many different perspectives,” she shared. “For me, it’s the starting point for building people with strong values and compassion.”
This also shows that education can’t stand on its own. It needs a supportive environment to truly work.
“Access to education without proper facilities can hold the learning process back. Children need a safe space to grow, not just academically, but also mentally, emotionally, and socially,” she added.

Jajago has seen this reality firsthand through their journeys to remote areas across Indonesia.
“The further we go, the more we meet amazing kids who are eager to learn, but are studying in spaces that are far from adequate,” they shared.
For Jajago, it’s like asking someone to climb a mountain without proper gear. The potential is there, but the journey becomes much harder.
“Facilities and the learning environment are the foundation. When children feel safe and comfortable, they can focus on their future instead of worrying about their surroundings.”
Sharing the Same Values with Happy Hearts Indonesia
This shared belief is what brought them together with Happy Hearts Indonesia.
For Natasha Udu, getting involved started with a simple realization.
“Often, the issue isn’t that children don’t want to learn, it’s that they don’t have a proper place to do it. That’s why I feel HHI is addressing the root of the problem,” she said.
Jajago feels the same way. For them, HHI is not just raising awareness, but also taking real action by rebuilding safe and proper learning spaces for children.
From Awareness to Action
Looking ahead, both Natasha Udu and Jajago hope their involvement goes beyond awareness.
Natasha wants to start more conversations about education, beginning with the people closest to her, from her listeners and followers to the communities she connects with.
“The hope is that these small conversations can grow into real action, whether through support, collaboration, or new initiatives,” she shared.
Jajago shares a similar vision. For them, every journey should create impact, not just content.
“We want every journey to not only bring back stories, but also leave something meaningful behind, a better learning space for children.”
Connecting Hopes
From both perspectives, one thing is clear: education is about opening doors, not just sharing knowledge.
When access, facilities, and a supportive environment come together, children don’t just dream, they start to believe that their future is within reach.
